A Message from the Chief Patron
Vilelie Khamo, Founder, Coraggio School
When I opened the gates of Coraggio School in 2004, it was far more than the beginning of an educational institution. It was the fulfillment of a sacred promise I had made to myself and to the cherished memory of my late mother, Lechale Khamo. She was a woman of extraordinary yet quiet strength, whose compassion touched everyone she encountered. Her unwavering way of treating each person, regardless of where they are in life, with genuine dignity and respect has been the guiding light that has illuminated my path forward. This school is, in every meaningful way, her enduring gift to the world and a living tribute to the values she embodied.
Starting Coraggio was never simply about constructing classrooms or establishing another school. It was about creating a sanctuary where children could flourish and grow. Beyond academics, I want them to grow in courage, integrity, and kindness. I envisioned a place where young minds would be nurtured holistically, where character would be valued as highly as achievement, and where the lessons learned would extend far beyond textbooks. Each day since that first opening, I have carried within me the abiding hope that the young people who pass through these halls will not merely accumulate knowledge, but will develop the wisdom, discernment, and moral compass to use that knowledge for good.
Looking ahead to the future, my dream for Coraggio remains both simple and profound. If the school can touch and bless the lives of young people in even a fraction of the way my mother blessed mine, with her gentle wisdom, her selfless love, and her quiet example of grace, then I will know with certainty that Coraggio has truly lived up to its name and fulfilled its highest calling. I hope my students will understand that true success is measured not by personal achievement alone, but by the positive impact we have on the lives around us.
